Your Crown, Done in a Single Visit

No temporaries. No second appointment. Just results.

Same Day Crowns

How CEREC Same-Day Crowns Work

Not long ago, getting a crown meant two appointments, a temporary crown in between, and a lot of waiting. The process worked — but it asked a lot of patients. Time off, a second round of numbing, and weeks of being careful around a temporary restoration that never quite felt like your real tooth. CEREC changes that entirely. It stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics — which is a mouthful, so here's what it actually means for you: we design, mill, and place your permanent crown in a single visit, typically in about two hours. Here's how it works. Instead of taking a goopy physical impression, we use a digital scanner to capture a precise 3D image of your tooth. That image feeds directly into design software, where your doctor shapes your crown to fit your exact bite and match your surrounding teeth. Once the design is finalized, a milling unit right here in our office carves your crown from a solid block of dental-grade ceramic — the same material used in traditional lab-made crowns. By the time you're done, your permanent crown is placed and you walk out the door. The result is a crown that fits accurately, looks natural, and doesn't require a return trip. No temporary to lose. No second round of anesthetic. No rearranging your schedule twice. Just one appointment, and you're done.

Technology That Works for You, Not Around You

At Summit Ridge, we invest in technology when it makes a real difference to the patient sitting in the chair — and CEREC is a clear example of that. Fewer appointments means less time away from work, less anxiety about coming back, and less disruption to your day. It's also worth saying: the precision matters. Digital scanning eliminates the margin for error that comes with traditional impressions, and same-day milling means your crown is fabricated to exact specifications. Dr. Chen, Dr. Webb, and Dr. Nair have placed hundreds of CEREC crowns over the years, and patients consistently tell us the fit feels better than anything they've had before. If you've been putting off a crown because the process seemed like too much, this is worth knowing about. We're happy to walk you through what your specific visit would look like — no pressure, just answers.

"Dr. Chen and her team are absolutely incredible. I've been to a lot of dentists over the years, but Summit Ridge is the first place where I actually feel like they know me. The front desk remembered my daughter's soccer tournament from our last visit. Life-changing experience — I can't recommend them enough."
